Penang, January 29, 2026 — The Undergraduate Program in Management of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) collaborated with the Indonesian Students Association at Universiti Sains Malaysia (PPI USM) to organize an international community service activity titled “PLS-SEM/AMOS Analysis in Academic Research,” held at The Bricks USM. The activity was attended by 22 participants from the Undergraduate Program in Managementof USU and PPI USM.

The event was opened with remarks from the Head of the Undergraduate Program in Management of USU, Prof. Dr. Khaira Amalia Fachrudin, SE, Ak, MBA, who emphasized the importance of mastering advanced quantitative analysis methods to improve the quality of students’ research. Remarks were also delivered by the Chair of PPI USM, Arsitek Aphandic Duvadilan, who appreciated this collaboration as a form of cross-institutional academic synergy and expressed plans to collaborate again with the Undergraduate Program in Management  of USU in the future.

The material was presented by Mr. Ishbir Mujahid Adha, S.E., M.Si., who explained the basic concepts, stages of analysis, and interpretation of PLS-SEM and AMOS results in academic research. The session was interactive, featuring discussions on the application of these methods in scientific writing, and concluded with a group photo.

 

This activity reflects the commitment of the Undergraduate Program in Management of USU to strengthening students’ methodological capacity and expanding International academic collaboration networks in the future.

Faculty of Economics and Business USU plays a vital role in graduating a young generation with high character and competitiveness that will bring crucial changes during challenges and changes faced by the world community today. The younger generation must possess high adaptability, competitiveness and entrepreneurial spirit as the main prerequisite that needs to be possessed. Faculty of Economics and Business USU has experienced rapid development in terms of infrastructure, quality of lecturers, and education staff, fostering cooperation at home and abroad. This is done to increase its competitiveness as a leading university on the island of Sumatra and Indonesia. And become a forum for character development and professionalism of human resources through a quality and integrated educational process based on empowering the spirit of democracy with an actual problem-solving orientation and having superior and competitive competencies and expertise. The faculty of Economics and Business at USU continues to strive to develop and adapt to the development of the times of the 4.0 Era. Until now, FEB USU has contributed to the economy by providing human resources with the capacity and competence needed in society, including becoming professionals in the business world, decision-makers in government and intelligence personnel in educational and non-educational institutions.

About Us

The Faculty of Economics and Business was first established in Banda Aceh. In 1961, Universitas Sumatera Utara opened the Faculty of Economics in Medan. The opening stipulation was carried out by decree of the Minister of Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia No. 64/1961 dated November 24, 1961. In 1975 the Medan Academy of Commercial Administration (AAN) was transferred to the Company (PPAP) based on the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia. No. 42/U/1975 dated March 13, 1975. Furthermore, based on the Decree of the Rector of USU Number 309/UN5.1.R/SK/KPM/2014 dated February 19, 2014, the Faculty of Economics was changed to the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB USU). In connection with the reforms carried out in Higher Education with Decree. Director General of Higher Education No. 23/Dikti/Kep/1987, No. 26/Dikti/Kep/1987 and Decree of USU Rector No. 568/PTO5.H/SK/Q87 dated August 19, 1987, on September 14, 1987, a handover was held between the Director of Education for Company Administration Experts (PAP USU) to the Dean of the Faculty of Economics Universitas Sumatera Utara. Since the handover, the name of the Company Administration Expert Education (PAAP USU) has changed to the Diploma III Program of the Faculty of Economics, Universitas Sumatera Utara.
