Undergraduate Program (S-1)

The Undergraduate Program in Accounting of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) was established in 1961, making it one of the oldest study programs in the university. The curriculum of this program covers accounting principles, financial bookkeeping, financial reporting, auditing, and other financial aspects. The main objective of this program is to train students to manage financial information accurately, understand accounting laws and regulations, and develop analytical skills in financial decision-making.

Alumni Testimonials

USU Accounting produces a UI taste alumni. During my studies, I was educated by qualified and experienced lecturers, so the basic accounting concepts were very well embedded and solidified my passion as an accountant. The USU Accounting Department also led me to Bank Indonesia recruitment, which became my service field as a Government Employee. In 2012, at 32, I passed the independent recruitment as a Member of the Accounting Standards Board - Indonesian Institute of Accountants. I had this part-time service opportunity for six years (2012-2018). The basic understanding of accounting learned from Accounting FEB USU became my provision in running my current duties at the Financial Services Authority. Due to this accounting competency, I have had many opportunities to lead the task force for adopting banking accounting standards (IFRS 9 / PSAK 71) and preparing the Banking Accounting Handbook for quality and transparent banking financial statements. Accounting is my passion and my life.
