Supporting the university's internationalization program echoed by USU Chancellor Prof. Muryanto Amin, the Master of Management Science Study Program FEB USU has opened an international class by accepting two students from China.
This was conveyed when the Independent Accreditation Institute for Economics, Management, Business, and Accounting (LAMEMBA) conducted a field assessment of the Master of Management Science Study Program (Prodi) of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FEB USU) at the Prof. Dr. Soehadji Hadibroto FEB USU Hall, Monday (22/05/2023).
The activity brought in two LAMEMBA assessors, Prof. Dr. Aurik Gustomo, ST., MT from the Bandung Institute of Technology and Dr. Aris Budi Setyawan, SE., MM from Universitas Gunadarma.
Dean of FEB USU Dr. Fadli SE., M.Si. said that in the last two years, USU, especially FEB, has been exploring to obtain international accreditation from FIBAA. This accreditation process is expected to be the capital to achieve the next international accreditation from AACSB. It is known that LAMEMBA has established a memorandum of understanding with AACSB.
"For almost two years, USU, especially FEB, is exploring to enter FIBAA international accreditation. As we know, a memorandum of understanding has been established with AACSB. So that later the provision of the accreditation process will be valuable capital.
FEB USU has established international scale cooperation, marked by the holding of international classes in S1, Master's, and Doctoral study programs. In line with that, the Master of Management Science study program FEB USU announced that it will accept two international students from China.
The field assessment itself aims to conduct inspections and observations as an accreditation process for study programs. The field assessment of the Master of Management Science study program FEB USU was carried out for two days by the LAMEMBA assessor team.
Previously, USU Vice Rector I for Academic, Student Affairs, and Alumni, Dr. Edy Ikhsan, SH, MA stated that field assessments are the first step to improve the learning process and ensure that the Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) is really implemented and implemented.
"Ensuring that SPMI is, one of them, something that we do adopt that we are running. So these two days we will be together with our two assessors to then lay the foundation to move towards a better state," Dr. Edy continued.
LAMEMBA Assessor, Prof. Dr. Aurik Gustomo, ST., MT revealed the accreditation assessment criteria which include the Vision, Mission, Goals, and Strategy (VMTS), the Tri Dharma, namely education, research, and community service, supporting aspects such as the quality and quantity of human resources, facilities, finance, and important assessments, namely the LAMEMBA standard, namely international competitiveness.
