The Master’s and Doctoral Programs in Accounting Hold Seminar on Audit and Forensic Accounting
The Master’s and Doctoral Programs in Accounting at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FEB USU), organized a Seminar on Audit and Forensic Accounting on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at the Prof. Dr. Suhadji Hadibroto Hall, FEB USU. The seminar aimed to enhance students’ understanding of contemporary issues in auditing and the role of forensic accounting in detecting and preventing financial fraud.
The seminar featured Evenri Sihombing, SE.Ak., M.Si., CFE., CFrA., CA., CGRP., FRMP., C.Med., CIAE., CGCAE., CAssesor as the keynote speaker. During the session, he discussed developments in forensic auditing, the implementation of corruption prevention frameworks, and the importance of collaboration between forensic accountants and anti-corruption investigators in uncovering financial crimes.
The event was attended by lecturers, students, and alumni of the Master’s and Doctoral Accounting Programs at FEB USU. Discussions also highlighted the growing importance of forensic accounting expertise as financial reporting becomes more complex and technology continues to reshape the business environment.
Through this seminar, students were expected to gain broader insights into forensic accounting practices and potential career opportunities in the field while strengthening their awareness of integrity and transparency in accounting practices.
