This workshop featured Dr. Zuhairan Yunmi Yunan, a Senior Lecturer from Universiti Malaya, as the speaker, and Dr. Ance Marintan D. Sitohang, SP., M.Div., M.Th., as the moderator.
The activity aimed to improve students' understanding and ability to generate and develop research ideas (idea generating), understand the use of theoretical perspectives (theory perspectivizing) in developing research conceptual frameworks, and identify research gaps (research gap) to formulate research novelty (novelty) and contributions to dissertation research.

In her presentation, Dr. Zuhairan Yunmi Yunan discussed the importance of researchers' ability to examine various relevant theories and connect theoretical perspectives with research phenomena and problems. Through this approach, students are expected to develop stronger scientific arguments, identify appropriate research perspectives, and produce research novelty that contributes to the development of management science.
The activity took place through material presentations and interactive discussions. Through this workshop, students gained a deeper understanding and broader insights into developing research ideas, strengthening theoretical foundations, and formulating scientific contributions with novelty value, particularly in dissertation preparation.
The organization of this activity represents one of the commitments of the Doctoral Program in Management Science, FEB USU, to improving the quality of education and research and supporting the development of doctoral students' academic competencies.

This activity aligns with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education, particularly in supporting improvements in the quality of higher education through strengthening research competencies, developing academic capacity, and improving students' knowledge and skills in producing innovative research that contributes to the development of science.
Through this activity, the Doctoral Program in Management Science, FEB USU, continues to strive to create an academic environment that encourages idea development, strengthens theoretical perspectives, and improves the quality of dissertation research to produce outstanding doctoral graduates who can contribute to the advancement of management science.
