Berastagi, June 1, 2024—To improve the quality of scientific article writing, the Accounting Study Program (ProAksi) of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) held a Journal Article Writing boot camp from May 31 to June 1, 2024, at Grand Mutiara Hotel Berastagi. This event featured a renowned speaker, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Norazita Marina Binti Abdul Aziz, a research expert in accounting from Tunku Puteri Intan Safinaz School of Accountancy, Universiti Utara Malaysia.
The boot camp, themed "Transformation Towards the Ultimate," aimed to equip participants with the skills to write journal articles in accordance with international standards. More than 50 participants from various educational institutions and accounting practitioners attended the event, showing great enthusiasm for enhancing their academic capabilities.
Dr. Norazita Marina presented various writing techniques and tips on dealing with the review process and effectively publishing research results in reputable journals. In her session, she emphasized the importance of originality, solid methodology, and comprehensive data analysis as the main keys to success in scientific publications. This hands-on activity enriches knowledge and strengthens the professional network between participants.
By organizing this boot camp, ProAksi USU shows its commitment to producing competent academics who are ready to compete internationally. This activity is expected to be the first step in increasing Indonesia's academic contribution to international journal publications.
