The undergraduate Management Study Program of FEB USU has held the Management International Summer Course 2024

The undergraduate Management Study Program of FEB USU held the Management International Summer Course 2024, Advanced Feasibility Study—Theory & Practice in Palm Oil Industry, from August 19 to September 5, 2024.
This activity, which is equivalent to 3 credits, begins with providing material for four full days by competent resource persons in their fields, namely:

  • Prof. Dr. Khaira Amalia Fachrudin, SE. Ak., MBA, CA., MAPPI (Cert) from the Universitas Sumatera Utara
  • Doctor Gaurav Rajput from Charotar University of Science and Technology, India.
  • Assoc. Prof. Antoninette Flynn from the University of Limerick, Ireland.
  • Doctoryajarul Imna Mohd Amin from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. 
  • Prof. Madya Dr. Rasidah binti Mohd. Rashid from Universiti Utara Malaysia
  • Prof. Dr. Mirela Panait from Petroleum Gas University of Ploiesti, Romania
  • Doctor Ayman Shehab from the University of Buraimi, Oman.
  • Mr. Hamid Yusuf, MM, MAPPI (Cert.) Frisc. from the Indonesian Society of Appraisers
  • Mr. Suherwin, S.T., M.Si, MAPPI (Cert) from Indonesian Society of Appraisers
  • Dr. Diana Chalil, M.Sc., Ph.D from the Universitas Sumatera Utara, and
  • Doctor Handy Octavianus, ST, MMPP, MAPPI (Cert.) from the Universitas Sumatera Utara.

The 246 participants of this activity participated in hybrid activities. They consisted of participants from Indonesia, Pakistan, Malaysia, Sudan, Gambia, Ivory Coast, India, Thailand, and the Philippines. The international participants who attended offline were from Malaysia, Ivory Coast, Sudan, Gambia, Thailand, and the Philippines.

Furthermore, on August 23, 2024, participants visited the plantation and Palm Oil Mill owned by PT Nusantara IV Plantation to learn the activities firsthand. After this activity, International participants were introduced to historical places in Medan City, namely the Great Mosque and Maimun Palace.

On August 24-25, 2024, participants traveled to Bukit Lawang to enjoy the beauty of nature and conduct games aimed at strengthening the relationship between National and International participants.

Participants were given until September 1, 2024, to work on their assignments, namely the project of making a feasibility study of a Palm Oil Mill in groups.  

The project assessment was carried out in a hybrid manner on September 5, 2024. Overall, the participants were able to do and present their assignments well.
