Mastermind Team from FEB USU Named Best Newcomer Team

The Faculty of Economics and Business at Universitas Sumatera Utara (FEB USU) has again achieved national recognition. In the prestigious HSBC Indonesia Business Case Competition 2025, FEB USU's delegate team, Mastermind, earned the Best Rookie Team award, outperforming five other newcomer teams from universities across Indonesia.

The Mastermind Team impressed the judges with its outstanding ability to develop business strategies, present innovative solutions, and demonstrate strong teamwork. This achievement affirms that FEB USU students can compete and excel at the national level—even as first-time participants.

Members of the Mastermind Team:

  1. Hilmi Muthahhari Situmorang – Undergraduate Program in Management

  2. Daffa Rizky Hervindo – Undergraduate Program in Entrepreneurship

  3. Aulia Azzahra Putri – Undergraduate Program in Accounting

  4. Bintang Efraim Siboro – Undergraduate Program in Development Economics

Their success was made possible thanks to strong support and guidance from their mentor, Coach Inggrita Gusti Sari Nasution, SE, M.Si, a faculty member at FEB USU. The team also benefited from coaching by two inspirational mentors from HSBC, Indra Sulistio and Iman Suryadi. They helped the students sharpen their critical thinking, communication strategies, and data-driven business innovation skills.

The HSBC Indonesia Business Case Competition is one of the country's most competitive case study events. It challenges students to solve real-world business problems through strategic, analytical, and creative approaches. The competition also serves as a valuable platform to hone presentation, leadership, and teamwork skills under tight deadlines.
FEB USU extends its highest appreciation to the Mastermind Team for their enthusiasm, dedication, and outstanding achievement. "Thank you for bringing pride to FEB USU on the national stage. Continue to inspire and lead the future," conveyed the faculty leadership to the team members.

This accomplishment is a testament to the exceptional capabilities of FEB USU students and a driving force for the entire academic community to continue developing their potential and expanding their impact at both national and international levels.
