Bank Indonesia Institute has reopened the Bank Indonesia Research Grant (RGBI) Program 2025 as part of its commitment to strengthening Indonesia’s research ecosystem and supporting the development of high-quality academic research.
RGBI is a research grant scheme provided by Bank Indonesia that focuses on strategic research, including frontier research and model development. The program encourages researchers and academics to contribute innovative ideas and evidence-based recommendations on various economic and policy issues. For 2025, RGBI offers eight main research topics covering a range of relevant sub-themes that can serve as the basis for research proposals.
The registration period is open from February 14 to February 28, 2025. Research proposals and supporting documents can be submitted through the SPEKTRO platform in accordance with the requirements and guidelines established by Bank Indonesia.
Through this program, Bank Indonesia aims to promote a stronger research culture, encourage academic innovation, and support the production of research that contributes to national development. RGBI also provides opportunities for researchers to collaborate and develop policy-relevant studies that address current economic challenges and opportunities.
This program supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, through the enhancement of research capacity, knowledge development, and academic innovation. In addition, the program aligns with SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals by fostering collaboration among researchers, higher education institutions, Bank Indonesia, and other stakeholders in producing impactful research for sustainable development.
