Description
Registration for Thematic Community Service Program (KKNT) - MBKM USU is now open!
The Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) through the Directorate of Educational Development has officially opened registration for the Thematic Community Service Program (KKN Tematik) under the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) scheme.
The registration period is set for July 10, 2024, with program implementation scheduled for September, October, and November 2024. This program is intended for 5th and 7th semester students from various faculties across USU.
The KKNT MBKM program provides students with the opportunity to apply academic knowledge directly in society through placement in various regency and city locations, including Karo, Dairi, Tapanuli Selatan, Labuhanbatu Utara, Humbang Hasundutan, Deli Serdang, Simalungun, Langkat, Medan, and Serdang Bedagai.
Through this program, students are expected to develop social awareness, problem-solving skills, and community engagement while contributing to regional development. Participants will also receive various benefits, including living allowances, academic recognition of 20 SKS, BPJS-TK insurance, and official program uniforms.
This initiative supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, by providing experiential, community-based learning that enhances student competencies and real-world skills. It also aligns with SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, through collaboration between universities, local governments, and communities in implementing sustainable development programs.
