Description

Medan, 2026 — The Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FEB USU), continues to strengthen its commitment to creating an orderly, clean, safe, and comfortable campus environment for the entire academic community.

This commitment is realized through the issuance of a Circular Letter concerning the Prohibition of Selling in the Communal Space (Jambur) Area of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Sumatera Utara. The circular letter stipulates that selling activities and/or commercial activities in any form throughout the communal space (jambur) area are not permitted without written permission from the university.

This provision applies to students, lecturers, education staff, and external parties. Any violation will be subject to sanctions in accordance with applicable regulations.

The management of communal space is part of FEB USU's efforts to ensure that shared spaces continue to be used according to their intended functions while supporting academic activities and orderly interaction among the academic community.

Through this policy, FEB USU encourages greater collective awareness that the use of campus facilities needs to take into account the interests of all users of the campus environment.

Supporting the Sustainable Development Goals

This communal space management policy is in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, which emphasizes the importance of creating inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable environments.

In the context of higher education institutions, this principle can be applied through the orderly and responsible management of campus spaces to create a comfortable and sustainable academic environment.

FEB USU invites the entire academic community to work together to maintain facilities and shared spaces as part of an orderly, clean, and responsible campus culture.
