Medan, 2026 — The Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FEB USU), strengthens its commitment to creating a healthy and comfortable campus environment through the implementation of a Smoke-Free Area within FEB USU.

This commitment is stipulated in a Circular Letter concerning the Smoke-Free Area within the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Sumatera Utara. This policy prohibits smoking, whether using electronic cigarettes (vapes) or non-electronic cigarettes, within the FEB USU environment.

The policy is based on the Faculty's commitment to maintaining and improving the health and cleanliness of the campus environment. A smoke-free environment is expected to support the creation of a more comfortable atmosphere for work and teaching and learning activities for the entire academic community.

The implementation of a smoke-free area is also part of efforts to build a healthy lifestyle culture within the higher education environment. The entire academic community is expected to play an active role by complying with the established provisions.

Supporting SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being

The FEB USU Smoke-Free Area policy is in line with SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being, particularly in supporting the creation of an environment that promotes the health and well-being of the community.

As a higher education institution, FEB USU considers that creating a healthy campus environment not only supports the learning process but also raises awareness among the academic community of the importance of maintaining health and environmental quality.

Through the implementation of this policy, FEB USU invites the entire academic community to work together to build a healthy, clean, and comfortable campus culture for everyone.
