VISITING LECTURER: DR. TAKAHIRO OTA (OSAKA UNIVERSITY)
The Master’s and Doctoral Programs in Management, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Sumatera Utara, proudly present a Visiting Lecturer session featuring Dr. Takahiro OTA from Osaka University, Japan. As an Associate Professor specializing in Ecosystem Services and Environmental Coexistence Studies, Dr. OTA will share insights and perspectives on sustainability, environmental management, and the role of interdisciplinary research in addressing global challenges.
The event will be held on Monday, February 10th, 2025, at 10:00 AM WIB in Prof. Dr. Suhadji Hadibroto Hall, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Sumatera Utara. This academic activity provides an opportunity for students, researchers, and academics to engage in scholarly discussions, exchange ideas, and broaden their understanding of sustainability-related issues from an international perspective.
Through this Visiting Lecturer program, FEB USU continues to strengthen academic collaboration and international engagement while fostering knowledge exchange between global scholars and the university community. The activity is expected to enrich participants’ academic experiences and encourage innovative approaches to addressing environmental and societal challenges.
This program supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, by promoting access to high-quality learning opportunities and international academic exchange. It also contributes to SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals through collaboration between higher education institutions across countries. Furthermore, the discussion of ecosystem services, environmental sustainability, and human well-being aligns with SDG 1: No Poverty, SDG 2: Zero Hunger, and SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being, highlighting the importance of sustainable environmental management in supporting livelihoods, food security, and public health.
