Thesis and Dissertation Writing Workshop: Optimizing the Quality of Graduate Academic Research

The Master of Accounting Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Jambi, organized a Thesis and Dissertation Writing Workshop on November 8, 2024, at Prof. Dr. Suhadi Hadibroto Hall. The workshop featured Prof. Dr. Abdul Halim, M.B.A., Ak., CA., Head of the Master of Accounting Program at Universitas Gadjah Mada, as the keynote speaker, with Dr. Ismu Austrindiany Sina Ahram, S.E., M.Acc., CPA, serving as moderator.

The workshop aimed to strengthen the academic and research capacities of graduate students in developing high-quality, systematic, and impactful theses and dissertations. Through expert presentations and interactive discussions, participants gained valuable insights into effective research writing strategies, academic standards, and approaches to addressing contemporary research challenges.

This initiative reflects the Master of Accounting Program’s commitment to enhancing the quality of higher education and fostering a sustainable research culture. In addition to improving students’ academic competencies, the workshop provided opportunities for knowledge exchange and academic collaboration among scholars from different institutions.

The activity aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) by promoting excellence in higher education and research skills development. It also supports SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through academic collaboration between Universitas Jambi and Universitas Gadjah Mada. Furthermore, strengthened research capacity in accounting and development studies can contribute to evidence-based solutions that support poverty reduction (SDG 1), food security (SDG 2), and improved health and well-being (SDG 3).

Through this workshop, the Master of Accounting Study Program of FEB Universitas Jambi continues to prepare graduates who are competent, innovative, and capable of contributing to sustainable development at both regional and national levels.
