Prodi Ekonomi Pembangunan FEB USU Gelar ASEAN Youth Economic Conference 10.0 (EVEREST X)
The Development Economics Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FEB USU), in collaboration with EVEREST X, proudly presents the ASEAN Youth Economic Conference (AYEC) 10.0—an academic forum and scientific competition designed to provide a platform for young people to articulate ideas and research findings related to sustainable development. This year’s conference adopts the theme “Sustainable Development Towards a Brighter Future,” which is highly relevant to contemporary economic development challenges in the ASEAN region and the global development agenda.
ASEAN Youth Economic Conference 10.0 features two main competition categories: the Economics Paper Competition (EPC) and the Future Idea Competition (FIC). Through the Economics Paper Competition, participants are invited to submit abstracts and full papers addressing issues in development economics, public policy, and strategies for strengthening sustainable development. Meanwhile, the Future Idea Competition provides a platform for participants to present innovative ideas in the form of essays that focus on future-oriented solutions, innovation, and youth contributions to more inclusive and competitive development.
For the Economics Paper Competition (EPC), registration and abstract submission are open from 1 December 2025 to 31 January 2026, followed by the abstract announcement on 9 February 2026. Full paper submission will take place from 10 February to 8 March 2026, with finalist announcements scheduled for 16 March 2026. The conference and presentation sessions will be held on 8 May 2026, followed by a field trip on 9 May 2026. For the Future Idea Competition (FIC), registration and essay submission are open from 1 December 2025 to 8 March 2026, with essay selection conducted from 9–15 March 2026 and finalist announcements on 16 March 2026. Finalists will likewise participate in the conference and presentation sessions on 8 May 2026 and the field trip on 9 May 2026.
As a form of appreciation for the quality of participants’ work, ASEAN Youth Economic Conference 10.0 offers a total prize pool of IDR 20,000,000++ along with e-certificates, covering several award categories such as champion, runner-up, honorable mention, as well as special awards for best paper and best essay. For the Economics Paper Competition category, participants are also entitled to free abstract submission, enabling broader participation from students and representatives of various institutions.
Through this initiative, the Development Economics Study Program of FEB USU aims to strengthen academic culture, encourage scientific productivity, and expand collaborative networks among young people across the ASEAN region. Students and participants from universities and institutions are invited to take part in this inspiring academic forum and contribute ideas toward more sustainable development.
