Department of Economic Development FEB USU Presents ASEAN Youth Economic Conference 10.0 (EVEREST X)

The Department of Economic Development, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FEB USU), proudly presents the ASEAN Youth Economic Conference (AYEC) 10.0, in collaboration with EVEREST X. This academic forum and competition aims to bring together young scholars and innovators to share ideas and research contributions in response to contemporary economic challenges and sustainable development agendas. This year’s conference carries the theme “Sustainable Development Towards Brighter Future,” reflecting the urgency to strengthen sustainability-oriented policies and inclusive development pathways across the ASEAN region and beyond.

 

ASEAN Youth Economic Conference 10.0 features two major competition categories, namely the Economics Paper Competition (EPC) and the Future Idea Competition (FIC). The Economics Paper Competition encourages participants to submit abstracts and full papers that explore economic development issues, policy analysis, and strategic solutions for sustainable growth. Meanwhile, the Future Idea Competition invites participants to submit innovative essays that offer forward-looking ideas and practical recommendations for addressing future development challenges in various sectors. Through these competitions, AYEC aims to foster a stronger academic culture and promote the generation of impactful ideas among youth.

 

For the Economics Paper Competition (EPC), abstract submission and registration are open from 1 December 2025 to 31 January 2026, followed by the abstract announcement on 9 February 2026. Full paper submission will take place from 10 February to 8 March 2026, and finalists will be announced on 16 March 2026. The conference and presentation sessions are scheduled on 8 May 2026, followed by a field trip on 9 May 2026. For the Future Idea Competition (FIC), the open call and essay registration will be conducted from 1 December 2025 to 8 March 2026, with the essay selection process taking place on 9–15 March 2026, and the finalists announcement on 16 March 2026. The conference and presentation sessions will also be held on 8 May 2026, followed by a field trip on 9 May 2026.

 

To appreciate participants’ outstanding contributions, AYEC 10.0 provides a total prize of IDR 20,000,000++ along with e-certificates, featuring awards such as champion, runner-up, honorable mentions, and special awards for Best Paper and Best Essay. In addition, AYEC offers free abstract submission for EPC, allowing broader participation and encouraging more students and young researchers to join the program.

 

Through AYEC 10.0, the Department of Economic Development FEB USU is committed to strengthening youth engagement in academic research, expanding international networking, and promoting innovative solutions that contribute to sustainable development. Students and participants from various universities are warmly invited to take part in this inspiring academic platform and become part of a dynamic ASEAN youth community.
