The Master's Program inAccounting, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Sumatera Utara, in collaboration with the Indonesian Institute of Accountants (IAI) North Sumatra Region, organized an international webinar titled “Islamic Accounting: Foundational Concepts and Regional Trends in Indonesia and Malaysia.”
The webinar was conducted online via Zoom Meeting on Saturday, November 9, 2024, from 08:30 to 12:00 AM.The event featured prominent speakers including Prof. Dr. Maliah Sulaiman from Salihin International and Universiti Selangor, Malaysia, and H.M. Akhyar Adnan, Ph.D., MBA, CA, CRP, Ak. from Universitas YARSI Jakarta. Dr. H. Saparuddin Siregar, SE., Ak., M.Ag., MA, CA, SAS, QGIA also participated as a keynote speaker.
The webinar was opened by Prof. Erlina, Ak, Chair of IAI North Sumatra Region, and moderated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Maya Sari, SE, Ak, M.Si, CA from Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara.
This webinar aimed to broaden participants’ understanding of Islamic accounting principles and explore the regional development of Islamic financial practices in Southeast Asia.
