The Undergraduate Program in Management, Faculty of Economics and Business of Universitas Sumatera Utara (FEB USU), recently underwent a site visit as part of the accreditation process by the Independent Accreditation Body for Economics, Management, Business, and Accounting (LAMEMBA). The assessment took place from April 23 to 24, 2025, and was conducted by two LAMEMBA assessors: Prof. Dr. Vera Pujani, S.E., MM.Tech., and Siska Noviaristanti, S.Si., M.T., Ph.D. Their arrival was warmly welcomed by the academic community of FEB USU, creating an atmosphere of enthusiasm and optimism.
In his remarks, the Dean of FEB USU emphasized that the activity reflects the faculty's strong commitment to maintaining and enhancing the quality of higher education at USU. "The Management Study Program has consistently demonstrated that accreditation is not merely a symbol of institutional quality, but rather a driving force and commitment to continuously uphold and improve educational standards," he stated. He further noted that this accreditation process is a critical component of continuous evaluation and development efforts, which will bring substantial benefits to the institution, its students, and strategic partners in the future.
The Dean also highlighted several notable achievements of the Undergraduate Program in Management. In addition to achieving "Excellent" national accreditation status, the program has also been awarded international accreditation from FIBAA (Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation), valid until March 2030. These achievements align with USU's vision of becoming a world-class university through its Transformation Toward the Ultimate initiative. "Regardless of the outcome of this assessment, the Undergraduate Program in Management remains committed to delivering the highest quality of service and contributing to the advancement of higher education at national and international levels," he affirmed.
In response to the challenges of globalization and the growing demand for internationalization in higher education, FEB USU continues to accelerate its internationalization efforts through various strategic programs. These initiatives include the establishment of international classes, an increase in reputable international scientific publications, and collaboration with global universities and institutions. FEB USU also actively supports programs such as IISMA and staff mobility while facilitating the enrollment of international students at USU. "FEB USU aspires not only to be a leading faculty at the national level but also to become a benchmark in economic and business education internationally," the Dean remarked.
Beyond academic excellence, FEB USU is also deeply committed to promoting an ethics-based transformation. Through its slogan, Ethics and Knowledge, the faculty instills the importance of integrity and moral values in the educational process. Faculty members are encouraged to deliver knowledge and nurture students' character, shaping them into ethical and responsible academic individuals. "We believe that quality education must go hand-in-hand with character and ethical development. This is the spirit that drives educational Transformation at FEB USU," the Dean explained.
In closing, the Dean extended heartfelt appreciation to the team who diligently prepared for the site visit. He also expressed great hope that the outcomes would reflect their shared aspirations. Regardless of the result, he underscored that this process is a meaningful step in FEB USU's journey toward excellence. "Finally, I would like to remind everyone that whatever the outcome, let it motivate them to strive for a better FEB USU. Transformation Toward the Ultimate!" he concluded.
