Deli Serdang – On Monday, October 5, 2026, the Undergraduate Program in Management, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FEB USU), convened a workshop titled "Adjustment of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)-Based Semester Learning Plans (RPS)" at Tom’s Jungle, Deli Serdang. The event brought together over 20 faculty members from the Management Department and featured Prof. Dr. Khaira Amalia Fachrudin, S.E., Ak., MBA, Head of the Undergraduate Program in Management, as the primary speaker.
During the workshop, faculty members examined the shift from traditional syllabus structures toward comprehensive OBE frameworks. Under the OBE approach, all learning components—including Course Learning Outcomes (CPMK), subject matter, instructional methods, and assessment rubrics—are systematically aligned with Program Learning Outcomes (CPL) to ensure measurable graduate competencies.
In addition to OBE principles, participants learned how to map course contents directly to relevant Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). For the Management program, this integration instills student awareness regarding corporate sustainability, business ethics, social responsibility, and the broader societal impact of managerial decision-making. Designed in a collaborative workshop format, the session enabled lecturers to directly review and update their respective course plans.
Through this curriculum realignment initiative, the Undergraduate Program in Management FEB USU reinforces its academic quality assurance system, ensuring course syllabi remain standardized, outcome-focused, and aligned with international educational standards.
This academic development workshop directly supports Sustainable Development Goals SDG 4 (Quality Education) by upgrading higher education curriculum standards, alignment, and learning quality assurance; SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) by embedding sustainable managerial competencies and workforce-ready skills into business education; and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) by incorporating business ethics, corporate social responsibility, and sustainable operational practices into core management coursework.
