The activity was held online via Zoom Meeting on Friday, August 28, 2026, featuring Dr. Daniela Robinson from Wageningen University & Research (WUR), The Netherlands, as the speaker. Dr. Daniela Robinson is an Assistant Professor in the Business Management & Organisation Group at Wageningen University, with areas of expertise including innovation management, investment, foreign direct investment, international business, and digitalization.

In this webinar, participants were invited to understand various challenges in sustainable investments, including incentive alignment, corporate governance and ownership, ESG investing, pollution haven, as well as the concepts of “escape” and “push” foreign direct investment. The material also discussed the importance of governance in sustainable investment, issues of information asymmetry and moral hazard, as well as the relationship between investment, environmental regulations, and sustainability.

Through this activity, students gained insights into the complexity of investment decision-making, which considers not only economic aspects but also social, environmental, and governance aspects. Discussions on ESG, greenwashing, and the environmental impacts of cross-border investment also provided perspectives on the importance of responsible investment.

This webinar supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, through enriching students' insights into sustainable investment issues from the perspective of an international academic. In addition, this activity also supports SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals through academic collaboration between the Undergraduate Program in Management FEB USU and Dr. Daniela Robinson from Wageningen University & Research (WUR), The Netherlands, in bringing global knowledge and perspectives to students.

The implementation of this third webinar is part of the commitment of the Undergraduate Program in Management FEB USU to broaden students' perspectives through learning that is relevant to global business issues and sustainable development. The series of Webinars of the Undergraduate Program in Management will continue with the fourth webinar as part of the four-webinar series organized by the Undergraduate Program in Management FEB USU.
