The Undergraduate Program in Management, Faculty of Economics and Business of Universitas Sumatera Utara (FEB USU), successfully held a series of online International Webinars in May and June 2025.

This webinar series, which took place on May 22, May 27, and June 5, 2025, was a significant initiative that reflected the program’s commitment to internationalization and its efforts to broaden global perspectives among students and lecturers alike. 

The webinars featured three speakers from three different countries, each presenting timely and relevant topics in the field of business and management:

 

1st Webinar – May 22, 2025
Theme: “Empowering End-to-End Supply Chain Excellence: From Source to Customer”
 

The first webinar featured Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Ahmed Siddiqui from the Institute of Business Management, Karachi, Pakistan. In his presentation, he discussed comprehensive strategies to strengthen the supply chain—from sourcing raw materials to delivering products to end consumers. The topic is especially relevant in globalization and international trade dynamics, where supply chain efficiency is crucial to a company’s competitiveness.

 

2nd Webinar – May 27, 2025
Theme: “AI in Finance: Transforming Decisions and Driving Innovation”
 

The second session featured Dr. Mustafa Nourallah, a senior lecturer and digital banking and finance project manager at Mid Sweden University, Sweden. This session delved into the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the financial sector, exploring how AI supports data-driven decision-making, enhances operational efficiency, and fosters innovation in digital banking and financial services.

 

3rd Webinar – June 5, 2025
Theme: “Franchising & Performance: Keys to Franchisee Success”
 

The third webinar featured Dr. Bui Thi Thao Hien from Vietnam International University, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. She discussed strategies for achieving success in the franchising world and outlined key factors that affect franchisee performance, including business model selection, operational management, and strengthening the franchisor-franchisee relationship in the face of market challenges.

 

The webinar series received an enthusiastic response from students, lecturers, and the general public. The interactive sessions broadened academic insights and fostered valuable international academic networks
