Medan – Two students of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), have been selected as finalists of the 17th Indonesian Student Entrepreneurship (KMI) Expo 2026 in the Digital Business category.

The two students are Tri Nuhartati Gea, Student ID Number 230504003, and Deni Pertiwi, Student ID Number 230504046. Both are members of the Digital Business team along with students from the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology (Fasilkom-TI) USU. In the team, Marvitha Khairani Evanita Butar is listed as the team leader, while Diva Salsabila and Martin Anugrah Dominick Manalu are members.

Based on the letter from the Directorate of Student and Alumni Affairs, Universitas Sumatera Utara, Number 24732/UN5/Dir/Ditmawalumni/KM.00.01/2026 dated September 18, 2026, the students were selected as finalists for KMI Expo XVII 2026. The event is scheduled to take place from September 27 to October 1, 2026, at Universitas Jenderal Soedirman, Purwokerto.

The participation of FEB USU students in KMI Expo XVII 2026 is part of efforts to encourage the development of entrepreneurial spirit, creativity, and student innovation. Through the Digital Business category, students have a space to develop technology-based ideas and entrepreneurial skills while gaining experience in a student entrepreneurship competition.

The participation is also in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, through the development of student competencies beyond academic learning. In addition, the development of entrepreneurship and digital innovation also supports SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, particularly by encouraging young people's readiness to innovate and create economic opportunities.

FEB USU continues to encourage students to actively develop their potential, creativity, and entrepreneurial skills through various competitions and activities at the national level. Participation in KMI Expo XVII 2026 provides an opportunity for students to bring the ideas and work of USU students to the national level.
