Throughout 2025, students of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FEB USU), demonstrated a wide range of outstanding achievements across various fields. From academic and scientific competitions to sports championships, as well as arts and creative events, FEB USU students successfully enhanced the reputation of the faculty and the university at provincial, national, and international levels. Based on the official compilation of student achievements, a total of 53 accomplishments were recorded, all of which were carried out entirely within the 2025 calendar year, reflecting the consistency and competitiveness of FEB USU students throughout the year.
In the field of academics and scientific competitions, FEB USU students exhibited strong performance, particularly in events requiring economic and financial analytical skills. One notable achievement was attained by Andi Suranta Ignatius Ginting, who secured First Place at the national level in the Trisakti School of Management Virtual Trading Competition 2025 and continued to achieve recognition in various other national trading competitions throughout the year. Similar accomplishments were recorded by Efraim Josua Purba, who earned Second Place at the national level in the Trading Competition UNAS Investival and Third Place at the national level in the Veteran Trading Competition. These achievements highlight the strong competencies of FEB USU students in capital markets, investment analysis, and data-driven decision-making.
Beyond individual competitions, academic excellence among FEB USU students was also reflected in team-based achievements across various scientific and business innovation events. FEB USU students secured awards in national-level business plan competitions, business model canvas competitions, and scientific writing contests, all of which required collaboration, creativity, and a comprehensive understanding of economic and business challenges. These collective accomplishments underscore that FEB USU students excel not only individually but also through effective teamwork.
In the field of sports, FEB USU students consistently delivered impressive performances and secured podium finishes. Nabila Aulia Harahap achieved First Place at the international level in the 11th Tirak Taekwondo International Tournament 2025, while Marcella Oktavia Simanjuntak earned recognition in several karate championships, including First Place at the provincial level and Third Place at the international level in an international karate competition held in Kuala Lumpur. Additional sports achievements were recorded by Syaida Sari, who won multiple titles in provincial and national taekwondo championships throughout 2025. These accomplishments reflect the discipline, mental resilience, and competitive spirit demonstrated by FEB USU students in the sporting arena.
In the field of arts and creativity, FEB USU students also demonstrated commendable achievements through participation in international-level artistic competitions. Notably, students took part in international choir competitions such as the Rimini International Choir and The 5th Ken Steven International Choral Festival, where they successfully secured championship titles and elevated the international profile of FEB USU. These achievements indicate that FEB USU students possess multidimensional talents and are able to balance academic excellence with artistic and creative development.
Statistically, student achievements at FEB USU in 2025 were dominated by individual accomplishments, totaling 31 achievements, while team-based achievements accounted for 22. When viewed by competition level, the majority of achievements were attained at the national level, with 33 accomplishments, followed by 12 achievements at the international level and 8 at the provincial or regional level. This distribution demonstrates that FEB USU students’ achievements are not only substantial in quantity but also well distributed across various competitive levels.
FEB USU extends its highest appreciation to all students who have brought honor to the faculty and Universitas Sumatera Utara through their achievements throughout 2025. These accomplishments are the result of students’ dedication, the guidance of academic mentors, and a continuously strengthened achievement development system. Moving forward, FEB USU remains committed to fostering students’ interests and talents, expanding competitive opportunities, and creating a supportive academic environment that encourages the emergence of even greater achievements in the future.
