The Master’s and Doctoral Program in Accounting, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Sumatera Utara, in collaboration with CMA Indonesia (The Institute of Certified Management Accountants), organized a public lecture titled “The Frontiers Management Accountant Update.”
The event was held on Monday, June 12, 2023, at 09:00 AM at the Mikie Wijaya Hall, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FEB USU).
The lecture featured Daniel Godwin Sihotang, CA, CMA, CIBA, CBV, President of ICMA Australia Indonesia, as the keynote speaker. In his presentation, he discussed the latest developments in the management accounting profession, including the challenges and opportunities faced by accounting professionals in an increasingly complex global business environment. The session was moderated by Sambas Ade Kesuma, SE, M.Si, Ph.D, Ak, CA, a lecturer in Accounting at FEB Universitas Sumatera Utara. The event was opened with remarks from Prof. Dr. Iskandar Muda, SE, Ak, M.Si, CA, CSRS, CSRA, Secretary of the Doctoral Program in Accounting.
This public lecture aimed to provide valuable insights for students, academics, and accounting professionals regarding the strategic role of management accountants in supporting business decision-making, enhancing organizational value, and responding to global economic developments.
The event also served as a platform to strengthen collaboration between academia and professional organizations in developing management accounting competencies in Indonesia.
