Medan, 30 May 2024 – ProAksi Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FEB USU) is proud to present the latest session of the Proaksi International Teaching Collaboration Series entitled "Unveiling the Qualitative Research in Accounting". This event was held at Mikie Wijaya Hall and became one of the main agendas for academics and accounting practitioners.

The keynote speaker was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Norazita Marina Binti Abdul Aziz from Tunku Intan Safinaz School of Accountancy (TISSA), Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM). The host of this program was Sambas Ade Kesuma, SE, M.Si, Ph.D, Ak, CA, lecturer and coordinator of the Program, Media and Talent from the Accounting Study Program, Universitas Sumatera Utara.

The event focused on an in-depth exploration of qualitative research methods in the field of accounting, a topic that is increasingly relevant in the complex analysis of various business and financial phenomena. Dr. Norazita Marina, who has extensive experience in qualitative research, discussed the approaches, challenges, and opportunities in applying this method to accounting studies.
Furthermore, Dr. Norazita Marina explained various case examples and research results that have been carried out, providing a clear picture of how qualitative research can provide richer insights than traditional quantitative methods. By combining theory and practice, participants gain an in-depth understanding of how qualitative data can be processed into valuable information for strategic decision-making.

This session was also equipped with interactive discussions, where participants had the opportunity to have a direct dialogue with the speakers, ask questions about technical aspects, and share experiences related to the application of qualitative research in their own projects. Sambas Ade Kesuma, SE, M.Si, Ph.D, Ak, CA as the host, played an important role in keeping the discussion dynamic and relevant for the audience.

The program is designed to strengthen the capacity of academics and practitioners in applying qualitative research in the field of accounting, as well as facilitate international collaboration in the development of knowledge and methodologies. Through this session, it is hoped that the participants can apply new approaches in their research and contribute to the advancement of accounting disciplines.

The International Teaching Collaboration Series continues to strive to encourage innovation and improve the quality of accounting education at USU. This session successfully provided new insights and expanded the horizons of participants in the world of accounting research.
