The Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FEB USU) and the Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK) Institute held an OJK Berbagi Seminar – "Working Together to Build the Country". The event w being held on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 from 08.00 to 13.00 WIB at the Hall of Prof. Dr. Hadibroto FEB USU. The event was attended by OJK Institute, namely Head of Department of OJK Institute, Mr. Saut Simanjuntak, Deputy Director of OJK Institute, Mr. Ivan Guruh Setyawan, Director of OJK Institute, Mrs. Ida Rumondang, and Head of OJK Institute, Mr. Bonardo, and moderated by academician of FEB USU, Mr. Coki Ahmad Syahwier, S.E., M.P., The event was attended by students and lecturers from various universities in Medan City.
The event continued with a material presentation by the Deputy Director of OJK Institute, Mr. Ivan Guruh Setyawan discussing the income and efficiency of Indonesian banking costs. He highlighted that Net Interest Margin is high, but not accompanied by efficient banking performance compared to a number of neighboring countries, such as Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand. The event continued with a presentation from the Director of OJK Institute, Mrs. Ida Rumondang who discussed Open Finance and Embedded Finance. He explained theory, data in the field, SWOT analysis, as well as a number of regulations related to Open Finance and Embedded Finance. Finally, a presentation from the Head of OJK Institute, Mr. Bonardo explained the information and tasks of OJK Institute, especially about the design and development of HR competency standards in the Financial Services Sector as well as the implementation of training programs, seminars, and workshops. The event was closed with a discussion and question and answer session between participants and speakers. The enthusiasm of the participants was felt from the many questions asked by participants for each speaker.
