Medan, August 12, 2026 – The series of Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FEB USU) 2026 continued with various orientation sessions designed to introduce new students to academic life while preparing them to navigate the dynamics of higher education.
As part of the activities held on Wednesday (August 12), new FEB USU students received a series of sessions covering character development, national awareness, higher education transformation, technological developments, and preparedness for global competition.
The first session, titled “Building National Character, Global Leadership, and National Defense Awareness in Community and Civic Life, as well as Strengthening Personal Identity,” provided students with an understanding of the importance of character, leadership, and civic awareness as members of society and the next generation of the nation.
Students then received a session on “The Transformation of the Indonesian Higher Education System in the 21st Century,” which emphasized academic development, innovation, and character building to prepare students for global competition. This session served as an important introduction to the changes and evolving demands within higher education.
The following session introduced students to “Higher Education Transformation in the Digital Era, Industrial Revolution, and Society 5.0.” During this session, students were encouraged to strengthen their digital literacy and adaptability in response to ongoing technological developments and academic innovations.
The series concluded with a session on “Strengthening the Character of Excellent Students with a Global Competitive Orientation.” The session emphasized the importance of developing individuals with strong competencies, character, and readiness to contribute and compete at both national and global levels.
Through these orientation sessions, new students are expected not only to understand the academic environment and campus life, but also to build strong character, develop their competencies, and prepare themselves to adapt to changes throughout their studies at FEB USU.
The series of orientation sessions reflects FEB USU’s commitment to creating an educational environment that supports students’ holistic development in both academic and character aspects, in line with SDG 4: Quality Education.
