Dr. Arif Rahman, S.E., M.Ec.Dev. and Khairul Ali Hutasuhut, S.E., M.Si., lecturers from the Development Economics Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FEB USU), served as speakers at the Workshop on the Preparation of the Regional Action Plan (RAD) for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), in collaboration with United Local Governments and Development Agencies (ULGC) ASPAC. The activity was part of efforts to strengthen capacity and collaboration in the preparation of the RAD SDGs.

During the workshop, Dr. Arif Rahman, S.E., M.Ec.Dev. and Khairul Ali Hutasuhut, S.E., M.Si. delivered presentations on the preparation of the RAD SDGs and regional development perspectives in supporting the achievement of SDG targets. The workshop provided a platform for exchanging knowledge and experiences in integrating sustainable development goals into regional development planning.

The involvement of the two lecturers from the Development Economics Study Program, FEB USU, in the activity demonstrates the contribution of academics to strengthening development planning processes oriented toward achieving the SDGs. The collaboration with ULGC ASPAC also forms part of efforts to expand networks and facilitate knowledge exchange on sustainable development at the regional level.

Through this workshop, the preparation of the RAD SDGs is expected to become stronger, more focused, and better able to accommodate various dimensions of sustainable development. The activity also strengthens the role of the Development Economics Study Program, FEB USU, in supporting the development of knowledge-based policies and development planning.
