The Indonesian Institute of Accountants North Sumatra Region organizes a SAK-EP training for PDAM, involving Universitas Sumatera Utara academics as trainers and speakers.

The Indonesian Institute of Accountants (IAI) North Sumatra Region confirmed its participation as trainers and speakers in the “Private Entity Financial Accounting Standards (SAK-EP) Workshop for PDAM in North Sumatra Province,” in collaboration with USAID IUWASH Tangguh North Sumatra.

 

 

This activity aims to enhance human resource capacity, particularly in the implementation of financial accounting standards within Regional Water Utilities (PDAM) in North Sumatra. The training is expected to improve the quality of financial reporting and strengthen transparency and accountability in public utility financial management.

 

According to the assignment letter, the workshop will be held on November 12–14, 2024, at the BPKP Representative Office Hall in North Sumatra, Medan. The event will feature several speakers consisting of academics and accounting practitioners. The speakers include Prof. Erlina, Dr. Agung Wahyudhi Atmanegara, Dr. M. Irsan Nasution, Asen Susanto, Dr. Chandra Situmeang, and Drs. Razuar Yahya. The materials presented cover the overview of SAK-EP, transition from SAK ETAP to SAK-EP, financial transactions and journal entries for PDAM, and preparation of financial statements in accordance with applicable standards.

 

 

In addition, the training includes practical sessions on preparing SAK-EP-based financial statements to provide participants with comprehensive and applicable understanding.

 

The Chair of IAI North Sumatra, Prof. Erlina, stated that this activity reflects IAI’s commitment to strengthening accounting competencies in the public sector, particularly within regional water utilities. Through this training, participants are expected to effectively understand and implement accounting standards in financial reporting.
