The Master's & Doctoral Program in Management Science, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FEB USU) successfully held a guest lecture featuring Dr. Takahiro OTA, an Associate Professor from Osaka University, Graduate School of Human Sciences, Environmental Coexistence Lab.
The event occurred at Prof. Dr. Suhadji Hadibroto Hall, FEB USU, attended by Master's and Doctoral students in Management Science and Economics, particularly those interested in sustainability and environmental economics.
In the lecture titled "How to Move on Integrated Carbon and Biodiversity Credit System", Dr. Takahiro OTA elaborated on how carbon offset credit systems can be integrated with biodiversity offset credit systems to create a more sustainable economic impact. His insights provided a deep understanding of how these mechanisms contribute to balancing economic needs and environmental conservation, especially within global policies on sustainable development.
The lecture also served as an engaging discussion platform between the speaker and participants. Students actively explored the challenges and opportunities of implementing carbon and biodiversity credit systems, particularly in the context of Indonesia's economic policies. The Q&A session was highly interactive, with discussions covering policy implications, case studies from various countries, and potential applications of these concepts in national economic policies.
The Master's & Doctoral Program in Management Science, FEB USU, remains committed to bringing world-class speakers to enrich academic perspectives and provide a global outlook on strategic economic and management issues. Through this guest lecture, it is hoped that more academic research will support sustainable economic policies and environmental conservation in the future.
