The Economic Development Study Program of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FEB USU), successfully held a Guest Lecture entitled 'The Strategic Role of Natural Resource Balance in Development' on 22 July 2023 through Zoom Meeting. This event aimed to provide in-depth insight into the importance of Natural Resource Balance (NSDA) as an instrument in sustainable development.

Prof. Dr. Ir. Akhmad Fauzi, M.Sc., a lecturer at Bogor Agricultural University, presented the topic of NSDA as an important tool in economic and environmental integration. He explained that NSDA can help achieve sustainable development goals (SDGs) by providing information on the availability and distribution of natural resources. The discussion also covered challenges in implementing NSDA, including data integration, funding, and institutional capacity.

This activity was attended by students and lecturers of FEB USU, opened by MC Mrs Widya Sartika Hasibuan SE., M.Ec., as well as remarks from the Head of the S1 Development Economics Study Program, Dr. Raina Linda Sari, SE., M.Si.

The main objective of this guest lecture is to increase students' understanding of the strategic role of NSDA in sustainable development policy. NSDA provides a new perspective that links the economy with environmental sustainability, an increasingly urgent matter in the current development context.

This activity was held online on Saturday, 22 July 2023, from 08.00 to 10.00 WIB through the Zoom platform. The event began with a welcome and introduction, followed by a presentation of material by Prof Akhmad Fauzi. The discussion was interactive, followed by a question and answer session that allowed participants to ask questions related to the implementation and benefits of NSDA.

This guest lecture is expected to provide students with practical and academic insights on the importance of NSDA in supporting sustainable development and strengthening the synergy between higher education and responsible natural resource management. The recording of this activity can be watched again on the EP TV YouTube channel of the FEB USU Economic Development Study Programme through this link.
