The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) successfully held its Graduation Ceremony for Undergraduate, Master's, and Doctoral Programs for the Second Period of the 2024/2025 Academic Year. The event took place on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at Prof. Dr. Suhadji Hadibroto Hall, FEB USU, and was attended by graduates, faculty leaders, lecturers, and invited guests.
The ceremony commenced with a formal academic procession accompanied by the processional anthem, followed by the singing of the Indonesian national anthem, “Indonesia Raya.” In his remarks, the Dean of FEB USU, Dr. Fadli, S.E., M.Si., expressed his appreciation for the graduates’ dedication and academic achievements. He encouraged them to continue contributing to the advancement of knowledge, professional excellence, and community development.
A significant part of the ceremony was the reading of the Graduation Decree by the Dean, officially confirming the graduates of this period. The event also recognized outstanding academic achievements through the announcement of graduates receiving cum laude honors from each study program. Symbolic sashes were presented to representatives with the highest Grade Point Averages (GPAs) as a form of appreciation for their exceptional accomplishments.
During the impressions and messages session, Iskandar Muda Situmorang, a graduate of the Master’s Program in Accounting, shared his academic journey and experiences during his studies at FEB USU. The graduates also received motivational messages from Edi Faisal Harahap, S.E., M.M., representing the FEB USU Alumni Association (IKAFEB USU), who encouraged them to embrace future opportunities and challenges with confidence and integrity.
The ceremony concluded with entertainment performances and a group photo session, celebrating the achievements and togetherness of graduates, faculty members, and university leaders. FEB USU extends its heartfelt congratulations to all graduates and wishes them continued success in their careers and future endeavors.
This graduation ceremony reflects FEB USU’s commitment to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, by producing competent, innovative, and globally competitive graduates who are prepared to contribute to society. Furthermore, the involvement of alumni and institutional networks aligns with SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, strengthening collaboration and lifelong connections that support sustainable development and community advancement.
