The Master’s and Doctoral Programs in Accounting of FEB USU Holds FGD on OBE Curriculum Revision
The Master’s and Doctoral Programs in Accounting at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FEB USU), organized a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on the revision of the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) curriculum on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at the Prof. Dr. Suhadji Hadibroto Hall, FEB USU. The activity aimed to update the curriculum to align with evolving industry needs, labor market demands, and global educational standards.
The discussion featured two distinguished speakers, Dr. Noor Marini Haji-Abdullah and Rusdi Akbar, M.Sc., Ph.D., Ak., CA, who shared insights on the characteristics of OBE-based curricula, effective curriculum development mechanisms, and the importance of aligning learning materials with current academic and professional developments.
The event was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Dr. Fadli, SE., M.Si, Vice Dean I Dr. Amlys Syahputra Silalahi, SE., M.Si, as well as program leaders, lecturers, alumni, students, and representatives of graduate users who provided valuable feedback for curriculum development.
Through this forum, the Master’s and Doctoral Programs in Accounting at FEB USU aim to continuously improve their curriculum to remain adaptive and relevant to global developments, thereby producing graduates who are competent, professional, and well-prepared to face challenges in both academic and industry.
