The Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FEB USU), hosted an official visit from the Faculty of Cognitive Sciences and Human Development, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), from July 30 to August 1, 2025. This visit is part of the ongoing collaboration initiated through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Western Indonesia Master of Management Academic Collaboration Association (PKMMB) and UNIMAS, demonstrating both institutions' commitment to strengthening academic networks at regional and international levels. The visit was jointly organized with the Master of Management Program at FEB USU, featuring educational activities and industry visits.
The 45-member delegation from UNIMAS, consisting of 40 undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students and five accompanying lecturers, was warmly welcomed by the leadership and academic community of FEB USU and the Master of Management Program. The visit commenced with an airport reception at Kualanamu International Airport, followed by a company visit on July 31, 2025, to two strategic enterprises: PT Angkasa Pura Aviasi at Kualanamu International Airport and PT Pelindo Multi Terminal in Belawan. During these visits, participants gained direct insights into company profiles, human resource management, and operational strategies, complemented by interactive discussions, Q&A sessions, and the exchange of souvenirs.
The agenda continued on August 1, 2025, at the USU campus. The day began with participant registration, welcoming remarks from the Dean of FEB USU, the Director of the Graduate School, and UNIMAS representatives, followed by group photos and plaque exchanges. The main event, an international colloquium and sharing session, featured presentations from USU Master of Management students and UNIMAS students on current topics in management and human resource development. The program concluded with a campus tour of the Master of Management facilities, FEB USU, and the Universitas Sumatera Utara library.
This visit strengthened institutional ties between FEB USU and UNIMAS. It provided valuable opportunities for students and faculty from both universities to exchange knowledge, expand networks, and explore potential research and community engagement collaborations.
