
Medan, July 15, 2026 – The Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FEB USU), welcomed an official visit from the Financial Education and Training Agency (Balai Pendidikan dan Pelatihan Keuangan/BPPK) of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia on Wednesday (15/7/2026). The meeting marked an initial step toward strengthening collaboration between academia and government institutions through the exploration of strategic partnership opportunities.
The delegation from BPPK was led by the Head of the Financial Education and Training Agency and was received by the Vice Dean III of FEB USU along with members of the faculty leadership. The discussion was conducted in a warm and productive atmosphere, reflecting the shared commitment of both institutions to fostering meaningful and sustainable collaboration.
During the meeting, both parties explored various opportunities for cooperation, particularly in the areas of academic activities, collaborative research, community engagement, and human resource capacity development. These initiatives are expected to support the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education while contributing to the advancement of knowledge and public policy in the fields of economics and finance.
The partnership is also anticipated to provide broader opportunities for FEB USU students and academics to participate in programs that enhance academic excellence, professional competencies, and practical experience. Through collaborative initiatives, both institutions aim to generate innovative solutions that address contemporary challenges in economic development, public finance, and community empowerment.
This visit reaffirmed FEB USU’s commitment to expanding strategic partnerships with government agencies and other stakeholders as part of its continuous efforts to improve the quality of education, research, and community service. It is expected that the collaboration will create long-term benefits for the academic community while contributing positively to society and national development.
This initiative is closely aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDGs 4 (Quality Education) by promoting excellence in higher education and academic capacity building, and SDGs 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by strengthening institutional collaboration between higher education and government to foster sustainable development and shared impact.
