The Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FEB USU), welcomed an official visit from the Modern Islamic Boarding School Foundation Al-Hasyimiyah Darul Ulum (YPEMADU), Madrasah Aliyah Swasta (MAS) Darul Ulum Sipaho, on Thursday (29 January), held at the Prof. Dr. Suhadji Hadibroto Hall, FEB USU.

 

The visit aimed to broaden students’ insights, knowledge, and understanding of higher education, while also providing comprehensive information about the Faculty of Economics and Business at Universitas Sumatera Utara. The visiting delegation consisted of students accompanied by their teachers.

The event commenced with opening remarks delivered by the Vice Dean I of FEB USU, Dr. Amlys Syahputra Silalahi, SE., M.Si. In his address, he expressed appreciation for the visit from MAS Darul Ulum Sipaho and conveyed his hope that the activity would offer an initial overview of academic life in higher education, particularly within the FEB USU environment.

 

The session continued with a presentation by the Head of the Student Affairs Subdivision of FEB USU, Deny Mahyudi, S.Kom., who explained the admission pathways for prospective students at FEB USU. During this session, participants received detailed information on the various admission routes to Universitas Sumatera Utara, as well as the stages and preparations required to pursue higher education.

 

The activity then proceeded with a socialization session of the Undergraduate (Bachelor’s) Program in Islamic Economics, a newly established study program at FEB USU, presented by Widya Sartika Hasibuan, SE., M.Ec., a lecturer at FEB USU. The presentation highlighted the program profile, academic scope, and future career prospects for graduates of Islamic Economics.

 

Through this official visit, FEB USU hopes to provide comprehensive and valuable information to the students of MAS Darul Ulum Sipaho as a foundation for making informed decisions regarding their future higher education, while also strengthening the relationship between FEB USU and secondary education institutions.
