Medan, July 22, 2026 – The Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FEB USU), welcomed a courtesy visit from the Training and Education Agency of the Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia (Badiklat BPK RI) at the FEB USU Dean's Meeting Room. The meeting marked an initial step toward strengthening collaboration between higher education institutions and state agencies to support the advancement of education, research, scientific publications, and transparent and accountable public financial governance.

Representing FEB USU were Ms. Inggrita Gusti Sari Nasution, S.E., M.Si., Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, Cooperation, and Internationalization, and Prof. Dr. Fahmi Natigor Nasution, S.E., M.Acc., Ak., CA., CMA., Head of the Master's and Doctoral Programs in Accounting Science. The Badiklat BPK RI delegation was led by Firdaus Amyar, Head of the Academic and Learning Technology Center for State Finance Audit Training and Education, accompanied by Shinta Lamria, Head of the Secretariat of BPK Representative Office of North Sumatra Province; Ramzuhri, Head of North Sumatra Audit Division 3; Firmansyah, Head of the State Finance Audit Training Center (Balai Diklat PKN) Medan; and Dhani Adrian, Head of the Human Resources Subdivision of the BPK Representative Office of North Sumatra Province.

One of the key agendas of the meeting was the presentation of Integrated Knowledge for Achieving BPK's Learning Organization (IKON), an initiative of the Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia aimed at strengthening the organization's learning culture, knowledge management, and human resource capacity development. The program is expected to serve as a platform for knowledge exchange between practitioners and academics, fostering innovation while contributing to the improvement of public sector governance.

The discussion also explored opportunities for collaboration in promoting the Journal of Governance and State Financial Accountability, a scientific journal dedicated to advancing high-quality research in public sector accounting, governance, and state financial accountability. This partnership is expected to encourage greater participation from FEB USU academics in producing impactful scientific publications that contribute to policy development and the implementation of transparent, accountable, and good governance practices.

As the meeting concluded, Firdaus Amyar presented the book Qualitative Research to the Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, Cooperation, and Internationalization as a token of appreciation and a shared commitment to strengthening academic culture through the development of scholarly literature, research, and scientific collaboration.

Through this meeting, FEB USU expressed its hope that the relationship with Badiklat BPK RI will continue to grow into broader cooperation encompassing education, research, scientific publications, professional training, and human resource development. This strategic partnership between academia and a state institution is expected to make a meaningful contribution to improving public governance while producing graduates and academics who are adaptive to scientific advancements and responsive to the nation's evolving needs.

This initiative also aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) by strengthening the quality of higher education, research, and academic capacity development, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through strategic collaboration between universities and government institutions in support of sustainable development.
