Medan, August 12, 2026 – The leadership of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FEB USU), provided initial guidance to new students through the 2026 Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) FEB USU, held on Wednesday (August 12).

In his welcoming remarks, the Dean of FEB USU welcomed all new students who have become part of the FEB USU community. He emphasized that entering university marks the beginning of a new journey that focuses not only on academic achievement but also on character development, teamwork, and contributions to society.

The Dean encouraged new students to make the most of their university years by participating in various academic and student activities. Students were encouraged to build relationships, develop their skills, and begin making contributions without waiting until graduation.

“Start now, start small, and do it consistently” was one of the messages delivered by the Dean, encouraging students to develop positive habits from the beginning of their university journey.

Furthermore, the Dean reminded students not to focus solely on academic grades but also to build character and make meaningful contributions. While achievements are a source of pride, he emphasized that character and contributions to society are essential in shaping high-quality graduates.

As the world continues to change, new students are also expected to become a generation that is not only adaptive to change but also capable of creating change. Their time at FEB USU is expected to be utilized to develop competencies, character, networks, and experiences as preparation for future challenges.

On the occasion, the Dean of FEB USU also introduced the faculty leadership team to the new students. This introduction was part of the effort to familiarize students with the faculty's leadership structure and academic environment, while providing an overview of the individuals who will support them throughout their educational journey at FEB USU.

Through this orientation, FEB USU hopes that new students will pursue their university journey with enthusiasm, integrity, and consistency, and grow into graduates who are not only academically excellent but also possess strong character and are capable of making meaningful contributions to society.

The activity aligns with SDG 4: Quality Education, particularly by supporting an educational approach that goes beyond academic knowledge to include character development, competency building, and students' preparedness to navigate global changes and challenges.
