The Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FEB USU), held a coordination meeting to discuss faculty performance targets in research, community service, and collaboration. The meeting took place on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, in the Faculty Meeting Room on the 2nd floor and was attended by 40 young lecturers from FEB USU along with the faculty leadership.
The event was led by the Dean of FEB USU, Dr. Fadli, SE., M.Si., accompanied by Vice Dean II, Inneke Qamariah, SE., M.Si., and Vice Dean III, Dr. Paidi, SE., M.Si. In his opening remarks, Dr. Fadli emphasized the critical role of lecturers in improving the quality of research and community service, which is aligned with the vision and mission of FEB USU. He also stressed that research and teaching activities should align with each lecturer's area of expertise to provide more specific and relevant contributions to scientific development and improve educational quality at FEB USU.
The meeting reviewed the progress of research conducted by FEB USU lecturers and set future targets. Vice Dean III, Dr. Paidi, SE., M.Si., provided information about research grant programs offered by the faculty to support lecturers in producing high-quality research. This program is expected to motivate young lecturers to contribute actively to scientific development through academic publications.
The meeting also served as a forum for discussing strategies to achieve set targets, including addressing challenges lecturers face in conducting research and community service. Participants provided constructive input to support the implementation of the faculty’s flagship programs in the even semester of the 2024/2025 academic year.
Through this meeting, FEB USU aims to continuously enhance faculty contributions to scientific development, community service, and the expansion of collaborative networks that generate positive impacts for both the institution and society.
This initiative supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, by strengthening research capacity, academic excellence, and innovation among lecturers. It also aligns with SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals through the development of collaborative networks and strategic partnerships that foster sustainable academic and community development.
