On Friday, March 1, 2024, the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Sumatera Utara visited the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (FEB UNY) in the framework of a comparative study aimed at exchanging knowledge and experience in academic and student affairs. The event which was held in the Meeting Room of the Dean of FEB UNY was represented by a delegation of FEB USU consisting of 5 people, led by Expert Staff Vice Dean I of FEB USU, Andrew Satria Lubis, SE., M.Si. In his opening remarks, Andrew outlined the aims and objectives of the comparative study visit, which was part of an effort to improve the quality of academic and student management at both institutions.

Vice Dean for Academic, Student Affairs, and Alumni FEB UNY, Dr. Sutirman, M.Pd., warmly welcomed the FEB USU delegation. Sutirman explained about a number of innovations that have been implemented at FEB UNY in the academic process, including the use of system-based mailing services such as e-service. Sutirman also explained the academic structure at FEB UNY, which consists of 4 departments with a total of 9 study programs.
The discussion between the two parties covered various aspects, including procedures related to academic management, time limits for Turnitin work, and student development strategies. This discussion is expected to provide benefits for both institutions in improving the effectiveness and efficiency of academic and student systems.
In addition to the discussion, the FEB USU delegation also had the opportunity to see firsthand the condition of various academic and student facilities at FEB UNY. This comparative study visit is a concrete step in strengthening cooperation between universities and encouraging the creation of better synergies in the development of higher education in Indonesia. It is expected that the cooperation between FEB USU and FEB UNY will continue to grow in other fields in the future.
