The Undergraduate Program in Development Economics at FEB USU successfully hosted the 2025 Practitioner Guest Lecture on Monday, April 14, 2025, at Prof. Dr. Suhadji Hadibroto Hall. Themed "Passion or Resilience? Revealing the Gen Z Problem Towards the Labor Market", the lecture offered an inspiring space for reflection and dialogue about the realities of today's labor market.
The event featured Dina Murtiningrum, S.Sos., M.M., a seasoned industry practitioner and academic in human resources and career development. In her presentation, she emphasized balancing personal passion with emotional resilience when navigating work-related stress and industry demands. Students were invited to reflect on their generational traits—Gen Z—known for being expressive and innovative yet often challenged in maintaining long-term commitment and adaptability.
Around 200 participants attended, including Development Economics students and the public. The session included interactive discussions and Q&A, enriching the audience's understanding of the labor market. Students were encouraged to build soft skills such as communication, stress management, teamwork, and problem-solving.
This activity is part of the education–industry collaboration program (DUDI), which aims to align curricula with industry needs, offer practical exposure and foster professional networks to enhance graduate career readiness.
Through such initiatives, FEB USU aims to produce not only academically excellent graduates but also resilient, competent individuals who can make meaningful contributions to society.
