The delegation from UTU was led by the Head of the Development Economics Study Program, the Program Secretary, the Head of the Quality Assurance Team members, and the Development Economics Laboratory Head.

The Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FEB USU), welcomed a benchmarking visit from the Development Economics Study Program of Universitas Teuku Umar (UTU), Meulaboh. The visit was conducted as part of efforts to strengthen institutional capacity and exchange best practices in study program accreditation and quality assurance.

The UTU delegation was led by the Head of the Development Economics Study Program, accompanied by the Program Secretary, members of the Quality Assurance Team, and the Head of the Development Economics Laboratory. The delegation was warmly received by the Vice Dean I of FEB USU, Dr. Amlys Syahputra Silalahi, SE., M.Si., the Head of the Development Economics Study Program, Inggrita Gusti Sari Nasution, SE., M.Si., and the Secretary of the Development Economics Study Program, Dr. Monika Andrasari, SE., M.Si.

During the meeting held in the FEB USU conference room, Dr. Amlys Syahputra Silalahi, SE., M.Si., presented FEB USU’s accreditation system and quality assurance mechanisms, including strategic efforts undertaken to achieve excellent accreditation status. Furthermore, Inggrita Gusti Sari Nasution, SE., M.Si., shared best practices in curriculum development, laboratory management, and academic governance that have contributed to the strengths of the Development Economics Study Program at FEB USU.

The interactive discussion covered various strategic issues, including accreditation document management, quality assurance implementation, and the development of learning-support facilities and infrastructure. As part of the benchmarking agenda, the UTU delegation also toured several laboratory facilities at FEB USU to gain a deeper understanding of their management and utilization.

The Head of the Development Economics Study Program at UTU expressed appreciation for the warm welcome and valuable insights shared by FEB USU. It is expected that the knowledge and experiences gained during this visit will contribute to the continuous improvement of academic quality and educational services within the Development Economics Study Program at UTU.

The visit concluded with a group photo session as a symbol of the strong partnership and collaboration between Universitas Teuku Umar and Universitas Sumatera Utara. FEB USU remains committed to fostering inter-university cooperation as part of its efforts to enhance the quality of higher education in Indonesia.

This activity supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, by promoting quality assurance, academic excellence, and continuous improvement in higher education. It also aligns with SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals through the strengthening of institutional collaboration, knowledge sharing, and strategic partnerships between higher education institutions.
