Students of the Undergraduate Program in Accounting (ProAksi), Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), once again achieved international recognition through the International Accounting Youth Camp (IAYC) 2026. Held from July 27–30, 2026, at Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), the program saw four ProAksi students receive awards in recognition of their contributions and participation throughout the event.

The four students were Raissa Adilla (220503061), who won 1st Runner-Up; Evita Christina Zeffanya P. (220503054), who received the Most Collaborative Group award; Vensi Harefa (230503003), who received the Most Creative Group award; and Fahma Azzuhra (230503085), who received the Most Supportive Group award.

Under the theme “For a Better Youth Empowering Tomorrow,” IAYC 2026 brought together 65 students from five countries: Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Brunei Darussalam, and Pakistan. Throughout the program, participants took part in various activities designed to strengthen professional competencies, leadership, and cross-cultural collaboration through workshops, discussions, sessions with professional organizations and industry representatives, Youth Connect Games, and visits around the UUM campus.

During the program, participants were placed in groups comprising members from diverse backgrounds. This experience provided opportunities for participants to develop communication and teamwork skills while building international networks in a multicultural environment.

The ProAksi delegation was accompanied by the Study Program Secretary, Risanty, S.E., M.Si., Ak., CA, and lecturer Dr. Sambas Ade Kesuma, S.E., M.Si., Ak., CA, who supported the students throughout the activities at Universiti Utara Malaysia.

The achievements of the students demonstrate the ability of USU students to compete and actively collaborate in international forums. These accomplishments also align with efforts to support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) through internationally oriented learning experiences and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through strengthened collaboration among higher education institutions, professional organizations, and international partners in developing competent and globally competitive young people.
