Medan, September 1, 2026 — The Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FEB USU) hosted the Leadership Meeting of the Academic Senate of Universitas Sumatera Utara, which was held at the Prof. Dr. Suhadji Hadibroto Hall of FEB USU on Tuesday (1/9). This activity was part of the implementation of the duties and authorities of the Academic Senate of Universitas Sumatera Utara in supporting academic quality supervision and the development of education within Universitas Sumatera Utara.

The leadership meeting discussed various strategic agendas related to the development and improvement of academic quality. Several topics of concern included the Strategic Plan/Research Master Plan and Community Service Master Plan, Recognition of Final Projects/Theses, OBE Curriculum for Undergraduate, Master's, and Doctoral Programs, International Classes, National/International Accreditation, Fast Track Program, Recognition of Prior Learning, Special University Compulsory Course Classes, student affairs, cooperation and publications, as well as budget planning.

The discussion of these various aspects was an important step in ensuring that the implementation of education at USU continues to develop in accordance with academic demands and community needs. Strengthening the Outcome-Based Education (OBE)-based curriculum, improving the quality of learning, developing international programs, and enhancing accreditation are part of efforts to realize quality and competitive higher education.
Through this leadership meeting, the Academic Senate of Universitas Sumatera Utara also encouraged the strengthening of academic governance and synergy among units within the university. Continuous evaluation and development of various academic aspects are expected to support the achievement of USU's strategic objectives while improving the quality of learning experiences and graduate competencies.

The implementation of this activity is in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, which emphasizes the importance of quality, inclusive, and sustainable education. In addition, discussions on cooperation and publications also support SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals through strengthened collaboration in supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
